Education reform needs more lions, fewer lambs

I am a white male student in Europe, not America, and I acknowledge that students in the US are still significantly segregated by race in opportunities and results despite official rhetoric (there is plenty of evidence for that).

But what I do think is that we should focus on reforming educational system in general, for all students. Current system (which is pretty much the same throughout the world) with its focus on convenience of teaching, not learning, does not fulfill its purpose, which is to produce active flexible citizens with necessary skills to succeed in life. In addition this system is what makes oppression of groups of students easy (as it has happened in US and other countries).

I do agree with your central claim that we need more lions, more people who would lay out the facts to prove the need for reform.
