Crash Bandicoot!!

I don’t buy games often these days. I just don’t have time. There’s this new thing in my life called adulting. It takes too much of my time. Especially since my life can at times be crazy. For the first time, I have to schedule my gaming into my life. Gone are the days of the all night gaming spree. That era may never return.

But it’s not all grim. Some of my favorite experiences have begun to make a comeback. Last year I got to experience Skyrim again (with mods!). This time there was a flashback to my youth.

Back when the lead singer of TGM$ and I were kids playing PS1 on a 16 inch screen in our basement, we got a game that would set off my obsession more than Mario. Crash Bandicoot 2. We never played the first one. Number 2 came out when my dad purchased that mythical gray machine. We played the hell out of it. We played Crash Bandicoot Warped as well. It was the first game we ever beat, without adult help.

Twenty years later, I’m finally playing Crash 1. Its way harder than I remember. It’s punishing me for all those weekends I cheated on it with Spyro the Dragon. But I love it. Next weekend I’m hitting the game that started it all Crash 2.

By the way for Buffalonians. The Get Money Squad has a show at Canalside this Thursday. Be there or be square.

I’m off to watch this past Sunday’s Game of Thrones.
