Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter Problem “Solved”

Some of the distributions on Linux aren’t compatible with the Atheros AR9485 wireless card.

My laptop is Asus X550C intel Core i7 and i installed Ubuntu 14.04 and then Fedora 20 but i had the same problem in both of them.

The solution is below:

pc-home@pchome-X550CC:~$ sudo su
[sudo] password for pc-home:
root@pchome-X550CC:/home/pc-home# lspci -nnk | grep -A2 0280

root@pchome-X550CC:/home/pc-home# rfkill list all
0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: yes #thats the problem. and because of this your Fn+F2 isnt working.

2: asus-bluetooth: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no
3: hci0: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no
root@pchome-X550CC:/home/pc-home#

after the last command “rfkill list all” suspend your pc, and the last command is;

echo “options asus_nb_wmi wapf=4" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/asus_nb_wmi.conf

thanks
