Weekly Wizard: Character NFT Staking Is Live, Gameplay Demo & 3D Elves Updates & More

NOTE: The Cosmic Universe Marketplace holds around 200 NFTs, which will lead to the totals above in regards to how many holders there are to be lower than the true totals. Additionally, the Character Staking program holds a significant quantity of Character NFTs.
Character NFT Staking Is Live!
Our biggest release by far this week has been Character NFT Staking. In fact, we wrote a massive in-depth article on it here.
It’s only been a day and we’ve already seen 2,209 Wizards enter the staking program! The response to Character Staking has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’ve been fine-tuning it on the marketplace as well. We will also have a standalone Staking page that will take things to the next level, so be sure to keep an eye on that.

Gameplay Demo Update
Our gameplay demo is nearly complete! We’re just optimizing a few things, namely character animations, performance, and a few UI elements. We’ll have a video preview this week, with the demo itself released a day or two afterwards. In fact, we already have an initial build for internal testing…and to see Wizards come to life within Cosmic Universe has been absolutely glorious to see, and something we are incredibly excited to share with the community.
We’ve also started adding preliminary elements that will be part of the blockchain side of things, such as these land plot boundaries that can be toggled on and off with a single button, so that players can see where the perimeter of their land is, and then keep them invisible when they are not needed.
Marketplace Updates
We’ve made a number of updates to the marketplace. Besides some neat UI enhancements and Character NFT staking, we also brought in the following features that have been requested by the community:
- Transfer any NFT to any address directly from its page
- See the location of your Land NFTs in blue on the land map to see what plots are for sale nearby in red
- Map button in the sidebar menu goes directly to the marketplace map
Also, we’ve seen a 50% increase in the number of NFTs purchased on our marketplace, clocking in around 160 for the week. We have also seen the price floor for Wizards and land increase, even as crypto in general has had its worse week in years. This provides an insight into how things will go in the future on brighter days within the industry.
3D Elves Updates
The image above shows the five different types of Elves that will exist in Cosmic Universe. We’re upping the production value even more for this root race, and these are being developed entirely in Unreal Engine 5! We can confidently say nobody has NFTs as advanced as we do on the Harmony blockchain. We are committed to delivering the most advanced, entertaining, rewarding, and sustainable blockchain MMORPG we can possibly make.
We’ve also made more progress on various traits like attire, jewelry, and more.
We’re getting close to completing all of the traits for Elves, after which there’s just some rigging and animation updates to make and they’ll be set for becoming tokenized.

The Evolution of Wizards
From now seemingly humble beginnings that at the time were some of the most advanced-looking NFTs on Harmony, we have now become the only game on Harmony that has actually minted actual Unreal Engine models as tokenized assets.
Each character has gone through meticulous QA to ensure they operate flawlessly within our upcoming MMORPG.
We have been the first project on Harmony, and perhaps elsewhere, to have distributed 3D character NFTs for FREE to all holders of 2D characters!
Creating 3D Wizards took us hundreds of hours and was a Herculean task that virtually no project within the entire blockchain gaming space has done. This demonstrates our commitment to being a project and game that cares more than just the bottom line.
We understand the community is what makes us who we are and what we will become. Cosmic Universe continues to grow and evolve because we wish to both raise the bar for what a blockchain game is and become a leading MMORPG within the entire crypto space ⭐️
Wizzard Blizzard Speaks at Two AMAs
Wizzard Blizzard technically made his debut voice AMA on the Harmony Podcast earlier this month, but the episode won’t be released until later this month. Two live AMAs were hosted this week where Wizzard Blizzard was a key spokesperson for Cosmic Universe, namely with Hermes and Arcade.
