Work has been ongoing for the completion of our minigame Dawn of Crypton, while we also made advanced in the development of our flagship MMORPG. Here’s what’s been going on in the CU world!

Phase 1 of Wizard Staking Ends & Phase 2 Begins

Chests containing valuable rewards (NFTs and tokens) have been airdropped directly into eligible Avalanche wallets recently, with Wizards having received the corresponding chest(s) being marked accordingly.

Chests will be unlockable in early November, which will also be when we have a special announcement related to them to make. At that point, we will also provide information on how Chests and/or the Items within them can be sold and where they can be sold and traded (hint: OpenSea).

Also, if you sell your 20/20 leveled-up Wizards without claiming your Chests, the new owner can claim them. Conversely, if you buy a leveled-up Wizard that still has unclaimed Chests, you can claim them and get the sweet rewards inside.

Note: During Phase 2 it is still possible to pay the MAGIC upgrade fees and upgrade the Profession Skill Levels of your Wizards, even though technically Wizards will be in Deep Meditation. If you reach a Skill Level of 20 for one or two Professions for a Wizard, or buy a Wizard on OpenSea without a claimed Chest, you will get to claim and unlock one starting early November. Our NFTs Are Now On OpenSea

Great news! At long last, all of our NFTs are now on OpenSea!

OpenSea had suddenly and unexpectedly announced in October that it has added Avalanche to its marketplace, which means that all NFT collections on Avalanche would now be automatically populated and tradable on the world’s largest and foremost NFT marketplace.

As most of you know, last December Harmony was promising this would happen but it never did. Given this empty promise, we went on to develop our own NFT marketplace for all of our game assets. Fast-forward to today and we’re finally on OpenSea

There are several benefits to our NFTs being on OS:

We open up our project and NFTs to potentially millions of people (100M+ people visit the marketplace every month)
We harness the power of a 30+ person developer team that can deliver the best user experience
All our NFT attributes, including Profession Skill Level, etc, are easily visible

We now have a message on our native marketplace that informs users that our NFTs are now on OpenSea, and encourage everyone to use OS for trading NFTs.

Now that Wizard Staking’s Phase 1 is complete, we no longer need to use our marketplace for any critical functions. We have been planning to upgrade the marketplace and revamp it to improve several things but realistically this would take us several months to do, which is not a wise use of our time and resources. Thankfully, we’re able to have all of our NFT attributes visible on OpenSea, including things like Profession Skill Level, Chests, and more!

Note: Some NFT metadata needs to get refreshed on our Wizards, and you can help in this process by clicking the refresh button, as seen in the attached image. In the near future, our marketplace section of our website will be upgrade to be an NFTs section. This means all of our NFTs will still be visible on our site but tradable on OpenSea. We will have more details coming soon about this. Also, Chests have now been airdropped!

Note: If you are buying a Wizard on OpenSea and hoping to get a claimable Chest, make sure to refresh the NFT metadata first, as soon in the attached image. You will notice under each Wizard, in the Properties section, there is a “Chests Claimed” attribute that will tell you if the previous owner of the Wizard claimed any of the 2 Chests. Refreshing (the refresh button on the NFT page, not the browser refresh button) will give you the most up-to-date status of that attribute.

Also, you won’t see Chests as yours on OpenSea when you still have your Wizards staked.

Additionally, if you don’t see your Chests on OpenSea, go into your profile and then click on the More dropdown menu next to Activity and then click on Hidden…and remember, reaching a Skill Level of 20 for the 1st profession on a Wizard gets you a Rare Chest while reaching lvl 20 on the 2nd profession gets you a Mythical Chest. You can continue to level up your Wizards throughout Phase 2, except instead of MAGIC you receive chests and the various rewards within them. They will be openable in November (exact date TBD).

Exciting details about this coming but need to be kept under wraps for now.

Cosmic Universe x Flame Partnership

We are excited to announce our official partnership with Flame!

Flame is basically Steam for Web3. In fact, Rick Ellis, the founder of Steam, is also the founder of Flame, so they know how to create a successful game launch platform, and one that Cosmic Universe will proudly be featured and playable on!

With Flame, players will barely need to know anything about cryptocurrency or blockchain in order to get started, providing a frictionless entrance into Web3 gaming.

MMORPG Updates

We’ve upgraded the water physics and design, as well as updated shaders, colors, and other things that have really perked up the environment

Professions Details for Dawn of Crypton

All 12 Professions coming in our MMORPG will first be playable in Dawn of Crypton. We have begun sharing handy infographics that share details specific to each Profession, and will continue to do so in the run up to the release of this minigame in November.

Here’s some info on Fishing in Dawn of Crypton!

There are many pools, streams, rivers, and lakes on Cosmic Island, not to mention the expansive ocean surrounding it. These waters are teeming with life. From the relatively common Forest Fish to the extremely rare Jade Octopus, Crypton’s waters have many secrets to reveal. At the Dawn of Crypton, only a few of these creatures have been discovered but no doubt as time goes on more will be found! The Forest Fish, Zebra Tang, and Hermit Lionfish are all possible rewards on Fishing Expeditions. Fish bones are a common find for every fisher though nothing goes to waste in Crypton.

Everything has its use. Of course, any avid angler knows that the better the rod, the better the chance of hooking a big one! As the quality of rod improves so does the chance of success. So, grab your rods, cast your line and see what you can find in the waters of Crypton!

Here’s some info on Alchemy in Dawn of Crypton!

The craft of Alchemy is steeped in mystery and intrigue. Aspiring alchemists must first go through an apprenticeship, or rather a rite of passage. This consists of preparing gathered resources and refining them into usable materials. Only after this apprenticeship is complete will further tasks be entrusted to beginning alchemists. While playing Dawn of Crypton, alchemists will have the ability to refine raw resources harvested by herbalists into usable materials. These include Hemp Paste, Aloe Vera Paste, and Cosmic Poppy Paste. The master Alchemists know that the best cauldrons make for the best pastes.

Applying heat in the right way and carefully mixing are the keys to success. Will you grab your cauldron and learn enough to become trusted with the secrets of Alchemy?

Here’s some info on Architecture in Dawn of Crypton!

Everyone on Crypton has the ability to build in some way, shape, or form. However, there are those who specialize and refine the craft, taking it to the next level. Architects on Crypton have the ability to unlock customizable buildings, unlocking exclusive addons for structures, modules for existing buildings, and loads more fun ways for a player to express themselves. They use the refined materials from miners and woodcutters to hone their skill and have been part of designing most of Enchanteria.

During Dawn of Crypton and the development of Cosmic Island, Architects are getting their hands dirty. The will use their drawing tools to design how the raw resources brought to them by the miners should be refined. What shapes they need for their buildings and to help improve the quality. Of course, who wants pencils that break? The better quality drawing tools, the better work an architect can achieve.

Here’s some info on Woodcutting in Dawn of Crypton!

A staple of civilization on Crypton, wood is used by almost every crafting Profession in one way or another. The building skill available to all of those who wish to learn is among the largest wood consumer, along with carpenters. From the plentiful Pine trees of the Elysian Fields to the unique Iron Bark trees of the Mystic Alpines, all trees have their special uses. However, not all are made equal. It takes skill and a modicum of luck to earn the best quality tree logs, and a woodcutter’s best chance of that is the rarer and higher quality axes.

In Dawn of Crypton, players will initially have access to Pine, Birch, and Bamboo logs. Sticks are a fairly common byproduct that can be used in many different forms.

Who among you has the strength and fortitude to harvest the trees of Cosmic Island and literally build civilization from the ground up?

Here’s some info on Herbalism in Dawn of Crypton!

Perhaps the most broad of all professions, the herbalists travel to all parts of Cosmic Island in search of their precious flora. Whether a plentiful Cosmic Poppy or a somewhat more rare Rainbow Mushroom, a herbalist will take great care in their task. A herbalism kit is an essential item that all who wish to undertake the task will need. A common kit can be purchased, along with other tools. However, those are…well, Common. Tales of rarer kits, with sturdier and better instruments, have been heard all over the land. To use one of these tools instead would provide a significant advantage.

In Dawn of Crypton, herbalists will enjoy access to Aloe Vera, Cosmic Poppy, and Hemp. It is true that these are relatively common herbs when compared with some found within Cosmic Universe, but they are also used for so many crafting disciplines that to have a supply of them is somewhat necessary…and to have the rarer ones…well, that’s just showing off!

Here’s some info on Crystal Extraction in Dawn of Crypton!

Treasure hunters, collectors and purveyors of shiny things are all drawn to the art of Crystal Extraction. Many of the crystals found on Crypton are also found in other realms, however there are some unique marvels that are found solely on Crypton — like the Wizard’s Eye…a deep blue crystal that stories say turns multi-colored the longer you look at it.

During the Dawn of Crypton, crystal extractors will have access to Citrine, Amethyst, and Tourmaline. These are the first forged crystals from when Planet Crypton was first formed. Like everything else on Crypton, some of these crystals are rarer (hence more valuable) than others. Holders of Mythical crystals are revered amongst those of the Crystal Guilds.

An Extraction wand is the only way that the delicate crystals of Crypton can be harvested without being destroyed. Carefully pulling them out of the rock using well-practiced arcane powers (as well as a sufficiently charged Extraction Wand). If you like shiny things, this is the profession for you!

Playable Demo Updated

Finally, we updated our playable demo to update a few things, including the new shading and coloring of environmental assets!
