Do You Ever Wonder, “Am I Doing Enough With My Life?”
I don’t keep a schedule. I should. I really should. Being an imperfect entrepreneur I find myself constantly feeling like I’m not doing enough.
The moment I finish a 2,200 word blog post, I think, “I should write more.”
I fall behind on projects.
I put things off.
I watch YouTube videos for at least an hour a day. It’s quite sad.
I stopped writing to-do lists because at the end of the day nothing was getting to-done. And the frustration it was causing was far too much to handle. Nothing makes you feel lazy like looking at a full list of exactly what you’ve avoiding doing all day.
I started instead writing done tasks after they were completed, instead of before. That made looking at a long list easier. Instead of being a crazy, scary reminder of where every hour of my day was allotted, it was now a list of time well spent.
What I’ve come to accept is that there is always more to do. There is always something for tomorrow. It’s an ongoing process this thing called living. I almost called it never-ending but the truth is, it will end one day.
One of my favorite life motto’s is: you can’t get it done and you can’t get it wrong. If I managed to get more done in a single day, it still wouldn’t get me to the end of anything.
There is always more today, with it’s own list of to-do’s, and I think that’s a good thing. If there’s nothing to do you’re either bored, or worse, dead.
So while I feel incredibly underproductive, maybe I am doing enough. Maybe, I’m being too unrealistic. Maybe just asking will help to inspire me to do more than I’ve ever done before. Am I doing enough with my life? Honestly, no.
How about you?
