Today, I’m launching the Web Stash network, 4 websites with Web Design, UX design, Front-End and Back-End links. After spending years saving links on my Chrome toolbar, I decided to create a platform to put all resources and links I found online.

Web Design

Origins of Web Stash

I am David Dias, a Front-End developer who cares about Web Design, UX and Back-End.

Since years, I was looking for a tool that will allow me to classify all interesting links I was finding everyday during my research. But not only: I wanted to be able to share it with my team and others.

I tested lot of apps and websites, but none were really fulfilling my vision and needs. I still remember years ago, using Del.icio.us that is today unfortunately dead.

I recently start using a lot Toby and Voblet for Github: these tools are just gold for my daily work.

Why Web Stash?

Since sometime, I try to figure out the best tool and way to put all interesting links in one place with the aim to be able to share with my team.

I started to see lot of “Stashes” on the web, the last was related to Chat Bots and helped a student I know who was looking for resources.

In the 90’s, I remember to see lot of directory websites, when Google was not as popular as today. Curated directories are not really new but still seems to be the best option in the case of list of links.

For me, “Web Stashes” were the best option.

Why not only Front-End Stash?

The featured resources on Front End Stash

As a Front-End, I work with other persons in the process of web development. Most of the time no web project is launched without a Web Designer, a UX or a Back-End developer.

It’s important on my POV to understand the entire process of thinking, designing and developing a web project. You need to speak the same language as others, understand the tools that can help you on the whole process.

The Front-End Code Camp is an event workshop to better understand the process of web development.

In 2014, I discussed about “Sketch” with few designers in my previous company in Paris. They were not aware about it. Today, almost everyone is using Sketch and Front-End developers (who work on Windows) use Invision Inspect to code new web projects.

Know and be able to choose the best tool for your project is essential if you want to succeed, save money and time.

How to participate to Web Stash?

If you want to help the Web Stash network to grow, you can do it easily! Just hit the “Submit” button in the header or in the middle of all pages.

You don’t need to register to submit your link, just fill the form and in the next 48h, I’ll update it and validate.

Just fill the form to send me your suggestion.

Next steps

In the coming weeks, I’ll add lot of links in the platform and try to add more description on some important tools.

I’m already planning to add some new features: be able to save your likes on an “account”, a Chrome extension to facilitate the submission…

That’s it (for now)!

I hope you like reading about the Web Stash story, if you did, hit recommend (❤) and spread the word around!
