I purchased my first adult car in 2007 and the first thing I did was rip out the stupid in-dash multi-disc CD player to replace it with a deck that was able to control and charge an iPod. I completely stopped listening to the radio and am still reliant on my 2007 30 GB U2 Special Edition (Black with a red wheel) iPod. I don’t even like U2, just liked the color.

So this iPod holds 1000s and 1000s of songs. A few years ago, I decided I was going to hit the Shuffle All playlist and go through every single song. Naturally, the battery wasn’t what it used to be, but it was always charging in my car and I could plug it in to keep power while I was at work. I made it 3/4 of the way through when I dropped it while getting out of the car one day. It restarted and got a nick on the top right corner. It was a double whammy, because that’s the only damage it has.

I still listen to it every day in my car. Always on Shuffle All. Maybe one day I’ll make it to the end.
