What is product placement?
The product placement is a strategy of marketing, ads and movies or TV shows.
In a regular and common ad . The product pays for a tiny spot, normally from 5–60 second where they can show what they want, in the way that them like. Is like a short time to show what you want and the intention is incentive to the public buy your food, or brand , or clothes, etc.
Directly and interrupting the videogame, the movie, the series, the web page. “If you want to continue seen the content, eat all my ad , with no more options” that is what I think every time that an advertisement shows up.
The product placement is all the opposite of a regular ad. Stills been an incentive to buy your product, but in this case the ad is hide and don’t interfere with the content. Like an accesorie of the scene of the movie that you are watching. The brand gets inside and get part of.
This strategy has principal 3 adventages
- You are not been interrupted. You DON’T have to see the brand. Actually in some movies or TV shows , the product is so hide and invisible that you don’t get realized that actually there is and ad.
- Is more cheaper and efficient
- Have a lot of types and different ways to interact with the scene
If you ask to me: Is better than a regular ad.

Passive
- In this one the brand or product is integrated in the scene. But the characters or environment Don’t have a directly participation with the product . Like scenography

2. Active ( Verbal Active )
In this type, the characters mention and talk about the product or brand. But don’t have relation with the story or theme of the movie. Just is mentioned
In this case, the characters ask for a Starbucks, mention the product but is not important for the scene
3. Active for action
Here, we can see the most invasive product placement, the protagonist have a directly dialogue with the product or a directly mention, and sometimes the product became an important part of the scene.
This is the most interesting, in the movie “Waynes World” the product placement is a parody and a important thing of the scene

The brand pays for the ad. Is not a gift or sometime random.
The producers of the movie, with the payment of the brand they can have a bigger budget and better special effects
You don’t have to be interrupted by the ad. You can continue seen the movie and at the same time seen an ad.
