Love comes and goes in the most ridiculous fashion

The new story by The Duo

It sweeps you off your feet with just a gentle breeze. Your mind transits into a state of bliss, as your spirits soar with the wind. Meanwhile, your speech slurs into an incoherent jumble of words struggling to make sense of this whole new world above ground.

But you don’t really care anyway, because now you just want to close your eyes and feel the warmth spread from his touch.

You barely breathed as you soaked up the embrace of the wind, swirling with it into a stormy passionate typhoon. Before you are able to do so much as open your eyes, you feel the wind stop and yourself freefalling. Your eyes fly open as you gasp for air, to only stare into a vacuum.

Then your spine hits the ground.

The earth shakes as you feel a stake being driven through your heart. An acute pain like you’ve never felt reverberates in your heart. It spreads through your veins and into the ends of your fingertips. You lie there, dazed. Confused. Hurting. Pained. It is as if the winds have never come. And he had never happened. You call out to no name, realising that it was, but never will be. Until the next wind comes.

And every time, you die a little inside.

Two unique individuals. Two different lives. One unexpected encounter and a beer later, the Duo is born.
