What a rollercoaster it has been in Web3 the last year. So many highs and lows. It has put all of us through the ringer and tested us to our wits end. But these challenges will not be enough to stop us and will only make us stronger as a community. Building The Mafia in a bear market has taught me lessons that I may have otherwise never learned. It has strengthened our resilience and perseverance. It has shown us what truly matters to our community and what the Web3 space as a whole really desires. It has helped shape and form us as we continue to strive to be the organization we envision.
With that being said we want to clear up the question for you: What is The Mafia? Ultimately, We are still a collection of gamers, asset holders, and innovators and we want The Mafia to be productive and to provide value to our members. We want to be an organization that drives value into GameFi ecosystems. We don’t want to be just another group trying to extract as much value as we can. Very soon we will begin to release systems that will will enhance your experience in the GameFi space.
Being a gamer myself, I have known the immense joy that is found in spending hours completely immersed in a game only to think a few moments have past. I have felt the connection of friendships that are forged through the experience that a game provides and I know I am not alone in having these experiences. We all know and have experienced at least glimpses of the power that video games can have in creating these moments. This is why The Mafia has positioned itself to do two things.
- Inject value in the space between the game and the gamer.
- Inject value in the relationship between gamers.
We want to cultivate a community that has not necessarily grown wide (while that wouldn’t be bad), but our goal is more to grow a deep connection amongst our community. In order to make good on our first objective we must inject value in the space between the game and the gamer. We have exciting plans to create tools that make the gamers user experience even more immersive. We’re working on a tournament structure for a game that we’re involved with that will provide lasting engagement and elevate how the gamers interact with the game as it currently is, so be sure to keep an eye out for more details on this in the coming days and weeks.
The second objective is for The Mafia is to capitalize on the gamer to gamer relationship. As illustrated earlier, just playing the game is one thing, but having a supportive and interactive community that inspires a sense of belonging is a whole other thing. We desire to cultivate a community of growth mindset individuals who truly want to see one another succeed. Our members have done a great job of instilling this standard, and it has been a joy to be a part of!
This is what The Mafia is all about, but what does The Mafia do? To answer this I think it’s important to get caught up on what we are currently doing. To start, The Mafia is an Esports organization above all else. Under the umbrella of an Esports organization, we expand into…
○ Individual games with communities (guilds) that are led by “game bosses”.
- In projects like Star Atlas — one of our members, Thor is working hard to build The Red Hand, a neutral party focused on the repair and rescue of ships inside of the game.
- Our Spider Tanks Esports team took first place in the Mayhem West tournament by Gala Games.
○ We are building a tournament structure for fans and competitors alike to increase engagement.
All of these examples are done for the purpose of strategically impacting and elevating the user’s experience as it relates to Web3 gaming.
We have our sights set for making the most of the Metaverse and we couldn’t do it without the support of our community who has believed and supported us from the start. As more projects develop and The Mafia grows, I look forward to see what the future holds for all of us in this space.
Team is All,
Timboslice
