“Before getting to the heart of the matter, we would like to let you know that in the following, we will talk about a new mobile app called The Facemoment !”

As we’re swimming in a sea of social networks and messaging apps, we are living in the most entertaining era. But paradoxically we still feel bored time to time. Yeah, we can bet on the fact that…NOW, SOMEWHERE, SOMEONE is whispering “I’M BORED!”, while you are reading this!

Technically speaking, this is what always happens to almost 97.341197605% of internet users when experiencing boredom in free time:

“Well, unexpectedly, I’m like free on a long weekend or at night right after a day’s work. And the main issue is it seems really tedious to text a bunch of friends, to see who is down or has an interesting plan and to coordinate whit them. Most people I know and texted were busy or out of town”.

Not cool.

As I sat there unsuccessfully trying to make plans or even to find plans or current activities that are relevant to my real interests, I wondered: what if there were a fast and better way to see my friends who are available? Or maybe even something better, what if looking for good real-time activities, around you, can provide new opportunities to meet and make new friends who share your interests in real life?

We all have that friend who starts a massive group chat about hanging out: As its name suggests, it’s MASSIVE, and also limited to your circle of friends. And at that point we easily lose track of the conversation to make a specific plan successfully.

In another case, there is always that one friend on Facebook who posts in his Timeline publicly asking his friends who has plans for tonight, or if anyone can join him for an activity: it’s not a good idea because, as a Facebook’s users, we cannot filter for instance relevant personal statues from random other status posts (pages/groups posts) to display on your News Feed.

In this regard, Facebook can not tell the difference between whether a statue is simply a casual stuff or it expresses a personal need to share with friend like suggesting a plan or calling people to action.

Consequently, we receive same notifications for both cases: This is not effective. The News feed on Facebook is becoming overloaded, less personal, a little bit frustrating and challenging. The algorithm behind the News Feed on Facebook changes a lot, and apparently people are upset about that.

Seeking companionship is a core piece of the human condition, yet we have few ways in social networks to engage discussion about plans and signal that desire without feeling vulnerable. Our main mission is to change that — to inspire, to build and promote stronger friendships based on plans made in real-life.

Fast forward to today, we are proud to announce that we are about to launch a social network that can transform the most of your free-time to the best, and make the activities you like fast, fun and easy. Our social networking will be born very soon, and we already give it a name: The Facemoment, and NO — it’s not typo from The Facebook.

So if you’ve ever felt the pain of getting a group together to organize well a plan, you’re going to love Thefacemoment. Groups of discussion form organically and are divided into 9 specific activities:

· Party

· Sport

· Food & Drink

· Trip & carpool

· Go Collaborative

· Sales & Shopping

· Class & workshop

· Dating & Socializing

· Group Actions & Culture

For instance, in the Sport category, you can push a bit further on your Filters mode, and display posts depending on two additional criteria: Time (Upcoming, past) and the Distance from you.

We offer all that with a great privacy features (public, with friends or a specific group).

In addition to more control of visibility, the app never reveals your location or even your proximity unless you want to. You can also tag your friends who already joined your plan, or invite easily others to join your plan and conversation with a simple @tag.

Furthermore, you can switch between two views to display your News Feed with All categories: List or Map view. There is so much more, but don’t take our word for it!

We are so excited to open it up to the world. We are constantly experimenting and have an ambitious roadmap for how we can make better your personal plans and encourage you to do it.
