This is a message for all of humanity.
We have fallen.
Peace is nonexistent.
We now live to persecute our brothers.

We glorify our own minds
With no regard for the thoughts of anyone else.
The world has become poisoned with selfishness.
Do you really think depreciation is the cure?

We call each other bigots,
Only making bigots out of ourselves.
Is our generation too blind to see
How ignorant we’ve all come to be?

We preach about love from mountain tops we couldn’t even climb,
Yet hate is what leaves our lips.
This is self-righteous hypocrisy!
We are modern day pharisees.

So ignorant.

In a world built on lies, how can one find truth? Just like the pharisees, we see justice and truth in our own laws, laws that gave birth to cynicism, hypocrisy, and wickedness. The divinity we find in our judgements are limited by our own versions of what is right and what is wrong. We weigh sins on a scale, as if they have different measurements. We are the modern day pharisees — we are cynical, we are hypocrites, and we are wicked. The truth is that truth has become so broken and so infused with lies and opinions that it cannot be understood from only one perspective. A worldly, final standard of truth cannot be made due to cultural and personal differences. If it is truth we seek, we must seek it from one who is not worldly, one who is not tainted with lies: Christ.

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
