Live, on-location video will remain a mass media advantage for sometime. Those satellite trucks are costly but they do give you all the bandwidth you need over a connection — and this is important — you own. There will come a time soon when the telcos (only some of the biggest monopolists and supporters of the Deep State and mass spying in US history) will throttle Net bandwidth to prevent “disruptive” or “abusive” vid from being streamed from riots/protests, rallies, crime scenes, etc. This is only one step removed from what BART did in 2011 to stifle protest of BART cop shooting incident by shutting down its underground wifi-cell mesh point. We know the gov’t wants to silence us, the question going forward is, how many collaborators are willing to help it?
