The meta remains Mass Media v SocMedia. The Beltway status quo, the RedBluDuopoly, is addicted to the inefficient mass media model of blunderbuss fund-raising paired with wonton, pointless spending. As long as you have enough commissions to go around, nothing changes. The one hope is that Robert Mercer and Bannon will completely leap-frog the Kochtopus and its array of think tanks (recall Anton skewered think tanks in his brilliant Flight 93 essay), PACs, and house organs. Think installing fiber optic lines to replace telegraph wires without ever bothering with the mess and cost of copper lines and analog switches. That is the potential for disruption that is out there, so long as Trump draws fire from the duopoly.
