How To Make Mama Proud
Work hard. And help others. Easy.

Those eyes
Have seen a lot of love.
Daquan J. Oliver’s mother (much like many single moms out there) worked very hard to raise him to be a caring, responsible young man.
That’s why today, he’s working hard to give it all back to other kids, just like him.
Over 432
To be exact. And that number keeps on growing.
Daquan is a helluva hard working guy who, at the age of 14, promised himself that he’d help children living in low-income communities (much like himself), one day, make it up the socioeconomic ladder of life.
Sweet buddy system
His nonprofit initiative, WeThrive, pairs up college / university students with high school students from low-income communities.
Together, the mentors and peers work for a one year period (after school style) on entrepreneurial projects like creating their own ventures, earning revenues, then donating them to other nonprofits.
Along the way, the high school kids learn valuable life skills like public speaking and personal finance. The things they’ll need to increase their confidence and self-worth.
The concept is so simple and so beautiful.
That’s why WeWork (a company focused on helping people make a life, not a living) recently spotted WeThrive a solid runway of $180K to spread the love and inspire more children to take charge of their destiny.
Mama Daquan must be so proud 💗
#WeLoveIt.
