I have a hypothesis about this. Why would a person of any race who values diversity even consider moving to the suburbs in the first place? I looked this town up on Google, and as a white liberal, I would never, ever move there. It seems to be a horrible car-dependent suburb nestled deeply inside the Atlanta sprawl. As someone who actually values diversity, I would move to an actual urban environment, like the one I actually live in now. People who really value diversity don’t move to the distant suburbs and the choices about where Millennials choose to live (central cities and close-in suburbs) are not suburban towns like this.
