Thanks for standing up for your writing. I’ve been coding for a few years, and your interpretation of the culture of SO is exactly like mine. I’ve had completely accurate Ruby answers deleted by Python users for dubious reasons. I’ve had questions immediately down-voted by because my guess was the reader thought it was too basic when in fact I had to work with several senior engineers before getting the answer and finally posting it myself. I decided to push through the culture regardless to help my online presence, and now I have a decent reputation rating. Your advice is great. Hopefully it makes it easier for the newer developers to establish themselves more easily.
