If Porn Backs Oculus Rift VR Will Become Mainstream

Let’s play a game. I’m going to say two words and you’re going to write the first thing that comes to mind in the comment section below. Ready? Here’s your words — Oculus Rift.

Now, if you said anything outside of virtual reality I wouldn’t be surprised. The resurgence of virtual reality started with a small company creating a virtual reality headset. That device is the Oculus Rift. It was, and still is, a big deal in gaming and tech circles. In fact it is such a big deal that Facebook bought the company a year ago. Since then multiple companies have joined the VR revolution. Sony has Project Morpheus, a VR headset for the PS4. Samsung has a set that works with their Galaxy line of phones and Valve, leader of the PC Master Race, has a VR headset in the works. If you’re a tech geek or gamer these are exciting times. And as much as I want these devices to succeed, their fate lies in the hands of an industry outside of their intended market. If VR is to succeed its success lies in the hands of the Porn industry.

Porn, for all the drama it causes, is actually a leader in tech adoption. If the Porn industry adopts it then there’s a great chance that it will succeed. From DVDs to streaming technologies, Porn makes it happen. And when they don’t, things just hum along. It is my humble opinion that blu-ray never became the standard format for media because the Porn industry didn’t like it. But what Porn does like is VR. Take a look at this video by Complex.

Hear the comments? VR found its killer app in Porn. If Porn is behind this technology it’s going to take off. Soon everyone will have one in the crib. You know for gaming, and surfing Facebook…
