Bovine Collagen protein

--

Bovine collagen is a naturally occurring protein found in the cartilage, bones, and hides of cows. The collagen is extracted, processed, and broken down into a form that’s easier to absorb — usually hydrolyzed collagen, also known as collagen peptides.

There are several types of collagen, but bovine collagen primarily consists of type I and type III. Type I collagen contributes to the structure of skin, tendons, organs, and bones. It’s also vital for wound healing and maintaining the health of the gastrointestinal tract. Type III collagen, on the other hand, is found in our reticular fibers, such as in the bone marrow. It’s most often found alongside Type I collagen in the body.
