Go to the Fun Countries
Ben Thomas

I had to share this with a few friends who don’t understand my extreme anxiety issues. The description of being aware is so accurate — now, imagine that is what it’s like every time you go to a place that isn’t “familiar” (places you’ve been multiple times before, know the layout, know the “customs”, don’t have to plan and research and prepare).

That’s what new experiences, places, people are like for me. The unfamiliarity can be so stressful BUT if I can embrace those moments — feeling my heart rate, noticing the smallest details with sharpness, hearing all the voices, taking it all in — those moments are thrilling experiences and memorable. Even if the fun place/experience is just going to a bar in the nearby city for a show.

Embrace the fun, embrace feeling awake!
