The #1 Thing That is Improving My Life the Fastest

A Year of Being Better — Day 5 of 365

Thursday, January 7th, 2016 — Approx. 11:50 P.M.

I am really noticing that gratitude makes you more attentive to your surroundings.

Being more focused on showing gratitude has forced me to be more aware of what is going on around me. It has really forced me to be more aware of the present moment.

By learning to show gratitude for little things that happen throughout my day, I am also noticing more things that I could be grateful for. Some of these are cheesy — like birds singing, but there are plenty of things to be thankful for that won’t make you want to throw up in your mouth.

Gratitude has also made it easier for me to make small changes in my habits to promote progress in other areas of my life.

Since I am already on the lookout for things that I can be thankful for, I find it more difficult to continue bad habits because I am more aware of the actions I am taking.

I really feel like gratitude was an awesome start to this project, since working on showing more gratitude is having such far-reaching effects in other areas of my life.

Depressing note: I got distracted watching Flula on YouTube tonight, so today’s post is a wee bit rushed. I was having trouble assembling my thoughts for tonight’s post, which is part of why I am late writing it — I wanted to wait until my thoughts were together. Hopefully this will still make sense.
