“We” who? Who thinks this will go into the pockets of the poor, displaced workers? It will go to governments, where it will get siphoned off into the pockets of entrenched trickle-down establishment entities.
When we bailed out the banks and insurance monoliths in 2009, the billions distributed to those companies, to avoid financial collapse, would have equaled several thousands of dollars per U.S. citizen. Money distributed directly to the victims, not the perpetrators, would have turned around the economy in a more direct and equitable manner.
