I started Nutmeg to make that wit, that smile, easily accessible to everyone. To build something for when “LOL” was not enough, when you want to make your friends actually laugh out loud with just a text. Whether you are tech savvy, a denizen of Imgur, Reddit, Tumblr, or just a fan of Tina Fey…Nutmeg is a tool for you.

And today we’re going to take that spirit to a whole new level as Nutmeg is joining the Giphy family.

Don’t fear! The app will continue to help you win all the GIF-battles, while our focus is shifting to the Giphy world as a whole. This is a new medium, a language that is increasingly powering our conversations. Giphy is going to be at the core of that shift.

I’m so grateful for the time in W+K’s PIE incubator - Portland is such a creative city - but now it’s time to gear up for the rush & hustle of NYC.
