The King’s School is a boarding school for boys located in Sydney, Australia. Founded in 1831 by the command of King William IV of England, it is one of the oldest private independent boarding schools in NSW. The school has produced many notable alumni, including politicians, trade commissioners, barristers, artists, writers, and more.

Mike Baird

Mike is among the many successful alumni of The King’s private boys school. Mike Baird is a former Premier of New South Wales. He stayed for 10 years in the State Parliament, as a Treasurer, and Premier. Mike has become the 44th Premier of New South Wales, the Minister for Infrastructure, the Minister for Western Sydney, and the Leader of the New South Wales Liberal Party from April 2014 to January 2017.

Tim Olsen

Tim Olsen is one of Australia’s most recognised and successful art identities and the successful owner of the Olsen Gallery. Son of Australia’s National Living Treasure, artist Dr John Olsen A.O. OBE, Olsen was born into a world of modern and contemporary art and through fortitude and adversities has forged his path and has become a highly recognisable Australian over the past three decades.

Sam Guthrie

Sam Guthrie is the general manager of Austrade’s government and policy division. He leads Austrade’s policy development function and ensures that the agency aligns itself with the government’s strategic objectives. Sam leads Austrade’s engagement with government, including ministerial and cabinet, parliamentary and the broader bureaucracy. He supports the government’s trade and investment agenda by ensuring that Austrade’s international posts and business clients’ voices are brought to the policy table.

Bret Walker

Bret Walker AO FAAL SC (born 1954) is a recognised barrister in Australia. Bret Walker was admitted in New South Wales in 1979 and became a Senior Counsel in 1993. He was President of the New South Wales bar association from November 2001 to November 2002. He was Vice President of the New South Wales Bar Association from 1996 to 2001.

Bret is also a member of the council of law reporting for New South Wales, he has been editor of the New South Wales Law Reports since 2006.

Lloyd Waddy

Justice Lloyd Waddy is an Australian politician and a judge of the Family Court of Australia. He specialised in family law and republican issues. He was also continuously involved as a member of the school council for the King’s Private Boys School Parramatta.

John Marsden

John Marsden is another notable man who graduated from the King’s independent boys school in Parramatta. John has written books for children which are translated into eleven languages and sold over 5 million copies throughout the world.
