That’s why you are reading this.!

Today, I’m here with some exciting tips and tricks that are actionable and can help you fix one UI lag. I had previously made a YouTube video that more than 11 thousand people found useful, and today, I will share some additional tricks with it.

Here’s an interesting statistic regarding Samsung’s One UI: With a substantial market share of 21.20% in global shipments, Samsung smartphones account for two out of every ten phones sold worldwide.

How to Fix OneUI Lag on Samsung

I am listening to all my favorite fixes that you should try if Samsung keeps lagging.

1. Disable Discover

We shall even get your phone holder. It would be lacking if too many processes ran continuously in the background. It is a fact that we all keep the internet on almost always, which slows down the oneui app.

So for this, you have to follow the below procedure:

  1. Open the mobile settings.
  2. Tap on Apps.
  3. Find and select OneUI.
  4. Tap on OneUI home settings.
  5. Disable Discover from there.

Why?

When enabled, it will constantly load new articles and news in the background, increasing the load on the system and making the other apps break down or slow down.

2. Keep the App Screen Grid Lower

There’s no practical reason behind keeping it lower, but as per my experiments and trials on multiple phones, it fixes Samsung’s UI lag.

So here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the mobile settings.
  2. Tap on Apps.
  3. Find and select OneUI.
  4. Tap on OneUI home settings.
  5. Select the home screen.
  6. Find and tap on the Apps screen grid.
  7. And set it to lower.

3. No More Optimized

All the apps on Android are optimized as per battery consumption, and because of that, it limits the full potential of the app to run max smoothly.

And even if you see the image below, it’s clear that OneUI Or Samsung’s UI app has set the default to optimized in all the phones.

But you have to set it to unrestricted. You can do that if you’re not concerned about the battery life.

Now, here’s how to set the Samsung UI app to unrestricted:

  1. Open the mobile settings.
  2. Tap on Apps.
  3. Find and select OneUI.
  4. Scroll and select Battery.
  5. Now set it to Unrestricted.

As per screenshots, you have to set it like that. It can be really helpful if you do it for other apps.

If you’re a gamer or want an app to perform slowly with lag or delay, try to do the same thing for it.

4. Clear the Samsung UI App’s Cache

This is the golden trick that works for all the apps, games, and even some of the services, like we used this to fix no sim card issue on Android.

So, simply clearing the cached data can reduce the lag by 24%, and in some cases, it can fix it by 50%.

How about clearing the app’s cache data?

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the settings app.
  2. Tap on apps
  3. Find and select the one ui app.
  4. Tap in the storage section here.
  5. Here, hit the clear cache button.

This is how you can clear the cache data of the Samsung oneUI app, and it could work on all Samsung smartphones. Also, there is another term for hidden cache data. You can read this article if you want to know more about it or how to delete hidden cache.

The steps that are shared above can solve your problem with the app 100%, but there are a few more things that you should consider before leaving this blog.

Why? Because doing this will ensure that this issue never comes back again. So it’s up to you.

Alternatives to Fix OneUI Lag

  • Disable or uninstall unused apps: Unused apps can take up storage space and run in the background, even if you’re not using them.
  • Manage background processes: Go to Settings > Battery > Background Process Manager to manage background processes. You can choose to disable all background processes, or you can choose which apps are allowed to run in the background.
  • Free up RAM:

Some pro steps can also be helpful; everyone should follow them for the best results.

This section delves into more advanced optimization techniques:

  • Factory reset as a last resort: It can be the last option; I would personally recommend it if your phone constantly lags or if it’s more than four years old and a mid-range or a budget-range smartphone, then you should factory reset it after every two years. NOTE: Before that, make sure to back up your content.
  • Custom ROMs and Rooting (optional): Custom ROMS are very helpful in performance and usefulness based on stock Android. You can try them, too; lineage OS is my personal suggestion.
  • Monitoring for overheating: Processors and phones overheat, and due to that, Android starts slowing down, which can cause the ONEUI home app to pause to gitter.

How to Maintain Performance In Samsung OneUI

This section emphasizes ongoing maintenance for sustained performance:

  • Regularly update apps: App updates often include performance improvements and bug fixes, so keeping your apps up-to-date is important. To do this, go to your device’s Settings app and tap “Apps.” Then, tap the “Updates” tab and select the apps you want to update.
  • Clearing app cache and data: An app cache is a temporary storage space that stores data from apps so that they can load faster. However, the cache can become bloated over time, slowing down your device. To clear your app cache, go to your device’s Settings app and tap “Storage.” Then, tap on “Internal storage” and select the app you want to clear the cache for.
  • Keeping storage in check: Your device’s storage can become full quickly, especially if you download many apps and files. Delete apps and files you no longer use to keep your storage in check. You can also move some of your files to a cloud storage service like Google Drive or Dropbox.
