This article is helpful for everyone who uses Gmail as their primary email app; other than that, these steps can also be applied to any other email service.

Why am I not getting my emails on my Android phone?

Two main reasons cause this error. Below are the errors. However, I’ll also tell you how to fix it.

  1. Email synchronization is turned off.
  2. Internet connectivity issues.
  3. App-related problems or errors.
  4. Incorrect email settings.
  5. Full inbox or quota exceeded.
  6. Email forwarding or filtering rules.
  7. The email app is not updated to the latest version.
  8. Email server issues or downtime.
  9. Spam or junk folder filters.
  10. Incorrect email address or contact details.
  11. Sender’s email server issues.
  12. Email apps conflict with other apps or settings.
  13. Email app cache or data corruption.
  14. Battery optimization settings are affecting email sync.
  15. Antivirus or security software blocking email access.
  16. You can use the earlier steps to troubleshoot and fix the problem based on these potential causes.

These are two main reasons, but there could be a smaller version of it, like; if someone sends you a PDF or a file attached to it.

Now, I am going to show you all the required steps to follow when the email is not received on Android. All the steps are tried & tested.

1. Turn On Email Sync

To begin, enable email synchronization on email client apps such as Gmail and Outlook. I’ll use the Gmail app on Android as an example. The steps are essentially the same in most email client apps.

  1. Open email app settings.
  2. Select “Sync”.
  3. Turn it On with Auto Sync.

What is Sync in Email?

2. Check the Internet

If your internet is on but not working, try toggling airplane mode on and off. This is a quick and easy way to reset your network connection and often fixes the issue.

3. Hard Refresh

To do a hard refresh, Open the EMail app and refer to the homepage or main email area where usually all emails appear. Then get into mobile app settings & select the email app (Gmail etc.) Now Clear its cached data. Then, reopen the email app.

This will hopefully solve your query. You can even follow this whenever you stop receiving emails or do not get any emails.

4. Re-receiving OR Rechecking

Here’s a deal: Whenever an email is not received, try to tell them to send it again or tell them to check whether it was sent.
