A beautiful and cold sunset
Today was a noticeably cold day in Evanston — particularly since the weather was warm and comfortable for the last couple of days. Nevertheless, I went out to the Lakefill at Northwestern University, where the strong winds had lapped up a few waves on the surface of Lake Michigan.
It was amazing — the waves lapped up against the rocks and lashed out in a cold fury. The spray wasn’t always big enough to climb up the rocks, but it looked spectacular when it did.
There’s something magnificent about seeing the white spray of the lake against the purples, blues, and oranges of the evening sky.
This week, a sale of Under Armour sportswear took place at the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion of Northwestern University.
I’ve been planning on getting some sportswear for ages, but I’ve never had an opportunity to shop for some — but this sale meant that everything was at least half price. There’s no way I’m letting this kind of a deal pass so easily.
I bought two shirts — one for cold weather, one for warm — and a pair of running shorts. I’m hoping to do a little more running while at Northwestern. I used to be able to run (a very short distance, but still), whereas now I can’t even jog a minute without feeling out of breath.
I’m excited. I’m looking forward to exercising again.
