Thanks for the reply although I would have a few issues (admittedly, coming from a limited, CIS…

FYI, it’s “cis” not “CIS”.

Secondly, again, I’m not going to weigh into the idea of drag being a mockery of trans women or femininity. I don’t have a right to weigh in on that. And I don’t think you do either. Just because you have an opinion, doesn’t mean you know what you’re talking about. And if you want to have an opinion on drag as a cishet white man, by all means do. But I’m not going to pay attention or hold any stock into it.

You begin your comment by alluding that you know very little about LGBTQ things, and yet, you’re arguing against me that it’s not about a hatred of femininity.

This is basically like me arguing with Neil Degrasse Tyson about physics. And me going, “I don’t know anything about physics but…”.

You have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about when it comes to violence against trans women. The best I can suggest you is to read the plethora of information already written on the internet about violence against trans women and learn. Or find a cisgender ally who can explain it to you because I can’t do that without my blood pressure exploding.

Because considering that the vast majority of trans women who experience violence are also trans women of colour, your belief that trans women are more “violent” than the cis men who attack them… like, I can’t even begin to convey how incredibly insulting and wrong that is.

I ALREADY know how cis white men think. Cis white men hold most of the positions of power in this society. They make and produce or at the very least sign off the vast majority of media. I grew up in a transphobic, shitty culture which taught me to hate myself before I understood myself. So I’m already well informed on the way society thinks of trans people.

But you, who by your own admission, know nothing about LGBTQ issues, do not know how we think. You do not know about us. You do not know about our issues. And you are in a place of learning.

And if you are more interested in telling me your own perspective on why trans women are being murdered than you are at sitting down, listening, and learning… then there is absolutely nothing I can do to better inform you. The best I can tell you is that your approach is not one of learning and LGBTQ people and supporters will be very lax to waste time to educate you if you have no intention of believing anything but that you know more about LGBTQ things than the people who actually experience them.
