As TLP is a community-driven, collaborative-story telling process we wanted to encourage our community to submit their own interpretations of what the TLP lore means to them.

Presenting Episode 3 of this world’s collaborative, community-driven narrative written by gazer Euclois.

In the deepest of the Red, wanders a fractured tribe, remnants of a lost civilization. Generations have passed and the memories have long been blurred. Some believe that their ancestors did not belong to the Red, so, to whom belongs the monuments and artifacts throughout these vast sands? Others have come to believe these monuments make part of their heritage, generating a dissensus and fracture among them, a fracture that reaches their deep values. It is also believed that they have been punished by the Creator, until consensus unites them again, and, so as the myth says, they will find the Garden, ending centuries of wandering the harsh sands and reuniting with the Prophet.

The tribe is stricken by profound existential questions. Does it matter where our ancestors came from? We have adopted the desert, maybe it’s what we should call home. What is the Garden? Does it even exist? Is it just a symbol to make us unite? What if we unite and there is no Garden*? Should the tribe be split and each follow their own way? Will we be able to reconcile with the Creator?

*Coming from a people who have never seen a lush environment, the tranquillity of a temperate climate, or the soft shadow cast in midday.

The story of the tribe is told through poems found millennia after the events. They were preserved in scrolls and stored in waxed filled clay pots, hidden in the caves of the Red. Not all have been found, so the story is incomplete. The black and white pictures are interpretations of the uncovered poems, depicting some episodes, from the bigger things to the common aspects of life, like a shepherd gazing into his herd atop a buried monument of the past.
