Day #10 : Action
I had this as a draft. Just forgot to publish yesterday.
I learned a lot about Habits yesterday, listening to the Power of Habit audiobook. I’m super pumped about the content. I’ve used it to build some great habits over the years unconsciously. Like working out, writing etc. Highly suggest anyone reading this to check out Power of Habit.
Random Insight : Self-Control = Ability to Ignore + Ability to Focus
“You can act your way into the right thinking but you can’t think your way into the right action.” That pretty much defines laziness. Action-taking mindset is perpendicular to the thinking plane. You have to get in the body to get the momentum. Momentum is a physical/biological thing. Not something that happens when you figure out how to resolve your mental issues and shit. Even if you overcome all the personal-development barriers, momentum will happen only when you Just Move. So the takeaway is…when you’re stuck and don’t feel like doing it, just move. Don’t take a step back and think “Hmm..how can I get myself to like what I need to do?” Because that’s not going to work. That plane is perpendicular. When you feel stuck, start small and just do it.
Shalom.
