Stop Planning , Start Doing
Above is a video from a man called Gary Vaynerchuck who owns Vaynermedia and has done very successful in business. I show this video not because of people I believe that are giving up, but instead are over planning and putting their passions aside because they don’t fully believe that their idea will work.
There is so much more work needed beyond your daily 8–5 schedule of work if you want to do something greater. It’s easy to talk about it and plan with the best strategies and to know the end’s and out’s of where you want this plan to go, but that planning is a slow death to your idea.
What’s great is that an idea or passion to do something greater or make a great product has plenty of fuel and tenacity behind it to get the ball rolling. The major problem is that we slow down the roll of that idea or product we are thinking of all by ourself. We dig our own hole for the killing our idea.
I say this because I was one to do the same for the longest time and create a great whiteboard masterpiece of strategizing the moves to make to get this idea out and make it happen. Now, don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with planning at times and strategizing that idea/product to make it grow to new limits. But that all comes in good time when you have exhausted all possibilities of what you can do at your micro level of sharing and working everyday to make those new limits exist.
Challenge yourself daily to exhaust those possibilities of work and creating your dream to make it a reality. Strategize and change the course of your idea when you need to, but all those other times instead of planning your next move, just go do it. If people like the Nike corporation would have continued to make the perfect running shoe and not ever really test it but just plan the designs, they would not be the corporation they are today.
Execute and exhaust all possibilities, then strategize for more.
