Mental age is so much more important than physical. I know infantile people in their 50s and worldly wise people in their 20s. My girlfriend is 16 years my junior, but at 29, recognizes truths that I didn’t arrive at until my late thirties. We all go through life experiences that mature us at different rates. No reason the same worldviews couldn’t exist in a younger man and an older woman, if their paths have been similar. The over-generalization of gender differences, generational tropes, and life milestones only holds true when we believe it and act accordingly. In truth, each of us is on our own unique journey, and when we meet at way stations en route to similar destinations, who the hell cares how long the individuals who connect have been searching?

Love who you love. Let the haters stew in their own misery.
