I published a piece recently on why you need to cut the crap and focus on important things. Then at some point, I really needed to ask myself this question.

“Dear Ayomide, what if you actually need a break from the important stuff you gotta do?”

What if the important things are actually stressing you out and draining your physical and mental energy? I had to ask because it started to feel like I was placing too much pressure on the important stuff to the point that I began to wear out.

Working on a series of projects and trying to combine many things at the same time, I became stressed out, felt sick and was even starting to lose my mind. Taking out even the smallest things on those around me. …

Do you know who you are and what’s right for you?
A lot of us including myself are so engulfed with what should be happening in our lives instead of what is happening at present.

At some point in my life where I seemed to be experiencing a delay in some of the things I wanted and even at some stage, failure; I made a decision to only worry about Now. That looks shortsighted, right? But I chose to figure out what was important for me and the present steps and processes I needed to take towards my goals.

At different points, I’ve been depressed, worried, anxious, felt hopeless but what keeps me going is the fact that I know and I’m doing what’s important for me. So even after b**ching around all my options, I still get myself back on the road. …

SELLING YOUR FOCUS

Stop! Even if you have to, why do it for so much less?

  1. Eliminating distractions
  2. Training your focus — it’s a muscle
  3. Carrying out important tasks in the morning.
  4. Having a plan and following through with a…

We all want more in life. A successful career, a big happy family, a generous income, body goals, owning a billion dollar company, writing the best books and so much more.

In most of our pursuits, it’s very common for everyone to set goals to achieve them. We foresee, predict, narrow down, climb rocks — using the same steps and methods, but what if we are going the wrong way?

In my opinion, I think:

Setting a Process beats Setting a Goal

Why? Having a process offers you a better way to do things.

Goals Limit Your Happiness.

A lot of times we think to…

How do you handle what people tell you?

In our daily interaction with people around us, we hear a lot of things every day.

From a little rumor about someone or something to facts about things you never even heard of. You are even told things about yourself. Some you know of and some you know nothing about.

How you handle this everyday information tells on you and makes a lot of impact on what you eventually think of yourself and the world around you. But a very important decision you can make to define who you are on your own terms is to not accept automatically what other people tell you. …

You need to design something, you want to write an article, you need to fix up your code bugs, you have to re-design your bag collection — You feel you can’t do it alone, then you get your headset, or make a cup of coffee, all to keep you alive while doing the things you claim to love….. Think about it, maybe you have not found your passion yet.

I think you shouldn’t get bored or tired by default when doing something you love, unless you are working on an extreme level, why do you need coffee or music?

Sometimes ago, I had a chat with someone and we were talking about the various things we love spending our time doing throughout the day. He made a statement, “Hey! When I really love doing something, I spend as much as 4 hours doing it”. …
