Fishing Sponsors need to adopt a new model for Pro Guide influencers

Why a retail discount just aint cutting it with YouTubers.

Fishing gear retailers need to upgrade the way they deal with influencers in the fishing community. In days past, local guides and pros went in to tournaments and sported their gear around the docks, and it was good will for the working class guys to have relationships with companies that gave them discounts when buying products. Its a pretty good deal, but thats the old deal, the fishing product companies need to recognize social media as influence.

Here is the new reality. I get 1.3 Million YouTube Fishing video views a month. We wear Sunglasses in the videos. Cant really fish without them. Thats 15.5 Million views in the next 12 months. YThats reality, thats new media. The only deal the manufacturers can offer me to use their gear is a discount? Thats gonna change. Social Media Creators and Brands need fair content partnerships. We will approach the brands we like first.
