Monkey see, Monkey do!
What is it that defines us? Is it our ethnicity? Our religion? Our culture and family ties? That seems to be a million-dollar question desperate to be answered, and the single issue-defining politics in the 21st century; Who are we?
What do we stand for? What are our beliefs on issues that affect our lives? Are these of ones own making, or are they part of a greater controlled narrative that forces itself on our minds like a predator closing in on its prey?
What can we do to change the world?
Many movements and leaders exist and claim to be the real defenders of the ideology that is called Patriotism and Libertarianism. They resemble 16th-century preachers proclaiming to the world that they know the truth, they are free, and if we follow them, we too can taste that freedom we have been longing to savour.
We are in a situation where we cannot see the woods for the trees. We have crowds bellowing out; they want their country back, return our streets, and this writers favourite; defend Christianity — it appears, that these would be Knights Templars, have never set foot in a church let alone protect one against assault! Oh what a mess we find ourselves imprisoned inside.
When we look at these groups, they all say virtually the same thing, aping one another trying to prove that they are the real deal. It is ridiculous — why so many groups and cult-like leaders all playing the part of a revolutionary leader? Let this be understood; there will be no severe and effective change while there is so much Monkey see, Monkey do business going on — all of these want to be the next Tommy Robinson, all looking to social media for clicks and hits and what is their message; more of the same!
What has Tommy Robinson done to make him such a revered man? He struck a nerve with many frustrated working-class individuals across the country-becoming admired and idolised by them, and making him a figure of hate in the left of politics who despise him for what they see as racism and bigotry! He has become too divisive and cannot unite people, and now it is believed he has left the UK for safety reasons, proving that his brand of activism will not get the results we are seeking.
We are still in the same place as we were years ago! We need a new direction, a path that will lead to the objective we all claim to seek; freedom, patriotic policies that will establish us as a sovereign people again.
It is time for an honest, open debate about what we need to do as activists, and how we must approach the obstacles, we will inevitably face. It is time for the team playing leadership, and responsible behaviour, that brings a professional culture, and a permanent presence within our society.
We must have an end to the cult of personalities that have bogged us down in an endless cycle of ego versus ego, and catastrophic incidents that have reversed all the excellent work people have done from the grassroots who have kept it going. Too many individuals have managed to insert themselves into positions of influence, who have an unsavoury past, causing disaster.
Do we need so many leaders?
We need some vetting, a procedure that can weed out the would-be heroes so that we can have a movement of ideas, freedom to express and challenge. Until then, we are doomed to a groundhog day like scenario, repeating itself over and over, playing the same old tune!
