What about Outkast? I think this is a genre where you may be lacking in knowledge and history, and the white characterization of pretty much all things unacceptable (or unenjoyable) to them as “gangsta” may be at play here, which is unfortunate. It’s unfair to claim that gansta rap epitomized rap before Kanye when gangsta rap was just the subgenre that White people chose to pay attention to. Very aggravating.
