Why Entrepreneurs should not be perceived broke!

My friend just messaged me: Hey there! we are planning a trip and wanted to know where all should we go since you are from that place.

I replied: Wow! look at you all, planing the trip to my fav place and that too without me!(though she is a great friend to me and I am allowed to talk to her like that)

My friend: Ya, but you only say that you don’t have money and all, so we thought you wouldn’t come

I replied: Umm (I didn’t reply) except made one point that I love my place and would love to go there but not when you guys are planning since I am busy. (Though I wanted to say more)

The point is that entrepreneurs don’t have time for usual things that employed people do and it is not because they are broke. I have money to spend on food and other daily necessities, it’s a lifestyle. But bigger than that is the zone that entrepreneurs have, the zone which has constant thinking. changing and working in real market, which employed people don’t get it. Yes, I did quote I don’t have money, but I don’t have money to travel since that is not my priority, I have money to invest in my product and my company, which technically doesn’t make me sound broke.

Entrepreneurship is a lifestyle by choice and choosing that doesn’t mean leaving your previous lifestyle. Rather it’s about evolving into a person that not most people can attempt to do.

So from next time if you have an Entrepreneur friend, please offer them ways to indulge in better times rather letting them feel that they are broke,which is never true!

PS: This article doesn’t aim to hurt other professions, I have respect for other professions too since I was once an employee as well. This is just an opinion on the opinions that people usually have on starting-up Entrepreneurs. So if you have any opinion, would love to hear and know persspectives on what I feel.
