NORSU commends outstanding faculty, staff

Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) Human Resource (HR) department initiated the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) and Salo-salo celebrating the efforts of the faculty and staff members throughout the NORSU System at the Main Campus Gymnasium on December 15.

The faculty and staff witnessed the recognition of 74 loyal awardees, including 12 staff members, for their achievements as Most Punctual and Perfect Attendance, Three Best Outstanding Researchers, Three Best Extension Programs, and Three Outstanding Technology Innovators.

The event was inaugurated with the acknowledgment of employees from each NORSU campus by the Human Resource Management Officer, Maria Elsa Hona A. Bulado, followed by the opening remarks from Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF) Noel Marjon E. Yasi and an inspirational message from University President Joel P. Limson.

President Limson emphasized the purpose of the gathering, which is to celebrate and recognize the achievements of university employees.

“It is with great pleasure and pride that we come together today for the PRAISE program as we acknowledge the hard work, dedication, and exceptional performance of each and everyone of you,” Limson said.

He also expressed pride in the productivity and success of the university in 2023, citing a bountiful harvest in terms of performance in board examinations.

Adhering to the criteria outlined in the Civil Service Commission Approved Praise Manual №1 Series of 2001, the ceremony continued by presenting loyalty awardees with loyalty pins, certificates, and other awards

Furthermore, 12 staff members received awards for Most Punctual and Perfect Attendance, and other recognitions included Best Outstanding Researcher and Best Extension Program.

The Best Outstanding Researcher awards were given to Philner Salindo of NORSU Guihulngan Campus and Albert C. Albina from NORSU Bayawan — Sta. Catalina and Lilibeth A. Bucol from the NORSU Main Campus, while the Best Extension Program awards were granted to NORSU Mabinay and NORSU Main Campus 1.

Ferdinand Q. Pascual Jr., Johann Heinrich P. Malongo, and Geraldine Omos received the Top 3 Outstanding Technology Innovator awards.

Closing the event, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Rose Marie T. Pinili expressed gratitude and extended congratulations to the faculty and staff members of the university.
