The vote on transitioning has concluded with close to 40% participation in total based on coin weight. The vote favored method 1 with method 4 following very closely behind. It should be clear that this is not necessarily the final decision on how transitioning will be done on the main net launch of Novusphere but rather what we will be implementing and testing first on the testnet once first launched publicly. With how close the vote was, we may consider launching a separate testnet to better evaluate method 4 but no final decision has been made at this time other than a testnet utilizing method 1 is the priority.

After testnet launch, because of how the board member system works there will be a short (TBD) period where in the Novusphere Team is the only board member allowing time for other board members to be voted in. Any testnets that are launched will be launched with a hard-coded “freeze” point to ensure that the testnet is not used beyond its intent and testnet coins do not gain any form of value outside the testnet itself.

Next week, a new community manager and developer will be formally introduced and added to the team both of which will be active Discord. The developer’s first focus will be refactoring and resuming work on the client interface that was previously being developed and bringing it to par with production use on the temporary chain. The interface being developed will also be used as the client for the testnet so it should make participation in testing easy and simple for most users who are not running a testnet node themselves. The community manager’s first focus will be working with the community to improve communications across neglected platforms such as Bitcointalk and Twitter.

One of the key things we will be seeking to implement early on is a proposal/voting interface available directly in the web client which provide a more comprehensive overview such as displaying the current participation %. It is our goal that as more users start to familiarize themselves with the new interface when production ready there will be an even higher participation in voting. Since there are still some ambiguous factors of Novusphere such as how anonymity will be approached there will more to decide as a community during the ongoing development of the testnet that won’t need to be as rushed as the December vote was.

Thank you for your continued support as we begin to near our first major milestone.
