Problem Overview

In our project, we are tasked with developing an online payment system for a financial industry client. The objective is to enable users to make secure and hassle-free payments for various financial services. The challenge lies in designing a user-friendly platform that allows customers to explore available services, select the desired options, and complete their payments seamlessly. As the entire payment process is conducted online, without any manual intervention, it is crucial to create a robust and intuitive system that ensures a smooth and trustworthy payment experience.

Key Point

User insight is all I needed!

Through interviews with users, I gained valuable insights to understand their needs.

Problem statement from User’s Perspective

As a frequent subscriber, I want to easily manage my subscriptions, so that I can efficiently track my expenses and enjoy uninterrupted access to the services I love. But currently, I cannot do so because of the overwhelming number of subscriptions and the lack of a centralized system to manage them, which leads to confusion and difficulty in keeping track of payments and renewals.

Competitor Analysis from User’s Perspective: Finding the Best Solution for Subscription Management

After conducting research on various payment providers, with a focus on Melisa Thompson’s goal of efficiently managing multiple subscriptions, I have identified several key competitors. Each competitor offers unique strengths and weaknesses in relation to subscription management. It is essential to evaluate these factors to determine the best option for our user

Converting problems into opportunities

  1. How can we provide transparent pricing for users who face the challenge of managing multiple subscriptions and experiencing payment-related problems, so that they can make informed decisions without any financial surprises?
  2. What budget management tools can we offer to users who struggle with multiple subscriptions, allowing them to track their expenses and set spending limits, so that they can better manage their finances and avoid overspending?

Streamline Subscription Management

  • Develop a centralized dashboard or app that allows users to view and manage all their subscriptions in one place.
  • Implement features such as subscription categorization, search functionality, and filtering options for easier navigation.
  • Enable users to easily cancel, upgrade, or downgrade subscriptions within the platform.

Transparent Pricing and Renewal Notifications

  • Provide clear and upfront pricing information, including any hidden fees or automatic renewal policies, to avoid surprises for users.
  • Send timely notifications or reminders before subscription renewals, allowing users to review and make informed decisions.

Personalized Recommendations and Usage Insights

  • Utilize data analytics to provide personalized recommendations for relevant subscriptions based on user preferences and usage patterns.
  • Offer insights and analytics on users’ subscription usage, helping them identify unused or redundant subscriptions that can be canceled or modified.

Simplified Payment Processes

  • Integrate secure and user-friendly payment options, such as digital wallets or saved card details, to streamline the payment process for subscribers.
  • Enable one-click payment or automatic payment setups for hassle-free subscription renewals.

Task Flow

I develop a task flow by first considering the importance of gathering comprehensive information before creating the task flow diagram. This approach allows me to understand the user journey, identify potential issues, and design a more efficient and effective flow. By conducting thorough research and analysis, I gain valuable insights that help prevent issues and ensure a smooth and seamless experience for users throughout the subscription setup process.

New User Registration and Payment Setup

In the first stage of the user journey, new users will go through the registration and payment setup process to get started with the platform. This stage focuses on guiding users through the initial steps of creating an account, setting up payment methods, and authorizing the necessary transactions.
