“What other Option Is There For A Black Man in America?”

Risk brain damage or nothing.

What if your not athletic or you can’t make music?

Pretty confronting.

Happy to be Australian and live in a country that gives working class people the ability to live a good life.

It’s why we must resist the Americanisation of our social compact and the commercialisation of our values.

We have allot of stuff to work on but beauty remains in the ideal set out at federation and persued by the labor movement.

A living wage.

A society and a culture that only praises “entrepreneurs” and elites which abrogate their responsibility to those born with less talent, skill, luck, intact family environment, inherited wealth or social connection will fall into disrepair and chaos.

We evolved to cooperate and to care for one another. Competition keeps us sharp love and connection keeps us alive.

No amount of “economic growth” can paper over the extraction of wealth from the masses by the worlds elites, a group to which I belong.

I will not let my privilege blind me to my great fortune or the responsibility to go back and help the others.

Over extractive elites led to fall of previous human civilisations from the Roman Empire to Qing Dynasty.

We have built a relative paradise in Australia. It was built on backs of poor settlers and the appropriation of indigenous land and the destruction of one of the worlds oldest cultures.

However that genocide , which we perpetrated has allowed space for a home for wave after wave of human beings who sought freedom from war, genocide and respression.

Our freedom, our liberty was paid for by the death of our indigenous brothers and sisters.

I thank them for their sacrifice and honour elders and ancestors past and present on who’s land I now reside.

The institutions our ancestors built have served us.

The interests of corporations should not outweigh the needs of the human beings who are our fellow citizens, brothers and sisters.

Markets are the best tool we have created to transmit information and promote efficiency but markets are not a human need.

We imagine and build tools to serve us not the other way around.

We risk sleep walking our way into a society like America that is corrupted by the charade that elites and the most talented amongst us do not have the obligation to lead the poorest and weakest and dumbest and fatest amongst us. Love them, don’t disdain them.

Power, beauty, talent and wealth are a gift bestowed upon those of us blessed to posses them to continue the endless, eternal, sacred work of leading our brothers and sister in humility from deep gratitude and profound love.

After receiving those gifts,

doing the work was the least you could do.

I’m grateful for all the pain I have ever suffered.

I’m thankful for all of the opportunity that has been extended to me by my parents my teachers and my society. I’m overwhelmed by the love i am a recipient of.

I’m grateful for the creativity of the talented, the risk taking of the business community and had work of the everyday men and women.

We all have a role to play in the evolution of humanity.

I pledge my life to the these principles and devote myself to the service of my lover, my friends, my family, my community and humanity and first of all me.

I worship the goddess and I am her guide.

I am overwhelmed by the opportunity that each breath of every day offers me.

Love and immense gratitude.
