Guj HC quashes law providing reservations for economically weaker sections

The law, enacted on 1st May this year as an Ordinance promulgated under Article 213 of the Constitution of India, provided for reservation of 10% seats in educational institutions to candidates belonging to unreserved economically weaker sections.

While the fact that this ordinance was struck down is not surprising at all, the judgment of the High Court is a good repository of all the rulings of the Supreme Court on the topic of reservations in general.
