I really appreciate your response, Ruena. I don’t take any of it personally, and I don’t purport to have ‘had it harder’. The rant was born out of exasperation for what I thought was unfair criticism of two of my heroes, Gloria Steinem and Madeleine Albright. From their perspective, we finally have a viable white house candidate who is a woman, who has a great track record on women’s issues, who’s supported by every major women’s health organization, who’s incredibly qualified, and yet many people are still finding reasons not to vote for her… anyway. I think what I DO hope for, most realistically, is that from a foreign policy standpoint, the rest of the world will see Hillary as a good faith sign that the U.S. is progressing in ways they fear we won’t.
