yeah that’s why I try to only give money to non profits where I know people — and to know what people are expected to do. Many people think an org with low overhead is a good idea. You know what overhead is? Salaries! Providing professional development for staff! I rarely give any money to the org my dad worked for — it does good work but I am so bitter at how they treated him (and many other employees).
