yep! my 403b and Roth are in “aggressive” funds. I have other stocks — because they typically appreciate faster than bank accounts — for things like a down payment in an account vanguard told me was good for 5–7 year investments (that’s how long I was planning to hold this money, vanguard has some q and a that help. I am sure every other company does too. seriously just do what they say). it is much more conservative, but still beats the bank accounts!

I think I am like you — it makes me super nervous to do something aggressive with money-but both accounts are set up so that they gradually become more conservative as I age.
