DEAR PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN FANCY TINY HOUSES

What is the #1 advertised and marketed product in the world? DEBT! We buy things we can’t afford to impress people we don’t like. Then we need a bigger place to shove it all. We’ve convinced ourselves that we NEED all that space. Let’s put this in perspective — in 1958 the average new house construction was 650 square feet and the average family had 3.4 children. Today the average new home construction is 3,500 square feet and the average family had 1.2 children. So living mortgage free is crazy? So be it! Having a home where you are living separate lives under the same roof? The American Dream! Are there sacrifices in living in a tiny home? Of course! God forbid we should inconvenience the dog by hiding the bed during the day!
