How to Get Cheap Games for PC and Contribute to Charity

This was such a game-changer for me in terms of buying online games for PC that I had to share it. If you never heard about it, there’s something called the Humble Bundle, where different companies offer their games on sale and where a certain percentage of the amount you pay goes out to charity. And to make it even better, you can get cheaper prices than you can find on Steam sales, for instance.

If you are new to the site, I’m going to introduce you to the different ways how you can buy games there.

Humble Choice

The Humble Choice (previously called Humble Monthly, with some differences) allow you to choose up to 9 games per month to keep forever, depending on the plan that you choose.

They let you choose from these three different monthly plans:

This means you can get 9 games per month for your Steam account for only 17.99€/month. If you don’t mind paying for a full year in advance, you get 25% discount aswell. You also get access to the Humble Trove, no matter which plan you choose. According to the website, the Humble Trove is a catalog of 90+ DRM-free games and Humble Originals. They add new titles every month as part of your Humble Choice subscriber perks! They’re yours to download and play anytime as long as you’re subscribed to Humble Choice.

Visit the official Humble Trove website to check the list of available games.

You also get 10% or 20% discount off Humble Store purchases.

Humble Store

You can think about this like any other virtual game store, where you can buy gift codes for games and redeem them on your Steam account. The advantage is that, whenever you buy a game on the Humble Store, you are making a donation to charity and getting a good deal on games. Neat, right?

Check out the official Humble Store website to see if they have any game you’re looking forward to buy and, this way, you can help someone in the process of buying a game.

Humble Bundles

Originally, the Humble Bundle website had only…bundles (therefore the name). Basically, there are bundles of games that you can buy together. In order to allow everyone to contribute to charity, they usually require only ammounts starting at 1€. Let’s see an example of such a bundle, which is for sale now — the Summer Adventure Games Bundle.

The Summer Adventure Games Bundle

For 1€ you get the first 4 games, if you pay more than the average price payed by Humble users so far, you get 4 more and if you don’t mind playing only a total of 13.50€ you get 4 more games and a DLC. It’s really a bargain, if you’re interested in some of these games.

Besides gaming bundles, they also offer Book and Software bundles very frequently. There are some going on now — check out the website if you’re interested!

Are you already a Humble choice subscriber? Was this story helpful to you? Let me know about it in the comments and please share some claps in case you found this article useful. Also, follow me if you want to stay tuned on future posts, as I’ll be posting every month what games are being offered on the Humble Choice with links for Steam, prices, as well as Steam reviews. So, stay tuned! :)
