No, its not a trick. It is by definition the worst case scenario. Your scenario is ridiculously over simplistic and unlikely. You have one UTXO? Someone sends you coins. Now you have two. And you would have to intentionally transact after each receipt of coins to condense everything back down to one, essentially doubling the transaction traffic involved in one economic exchange to continue ensuring each person has only one UTXO. That’s insane.
