Wow, it’s been an incredible couple weeks since we launched Yeti! We’ve seen members sign on from New York to Tokyo and everywhere in between. The first day we saw members swipe on 300 discussions. The next day it doubled past 700. The third day it doubled again to 1,500 and the next day it grew to over 4,000. We then got written up in Forbes and TechCrunch and saw more than 20,000 swipes in a single day! We’ve now passed 150,000 total swipes and it keeps growing!

When the app first launched we had a number of technical difficulties. Photos were’t always loading, the server was getting bogged down, and the app occasionally froze. Today we went live with version 1.6 (if you haven’t already, update Yeti here) and it’s better than ever! We wanted to thank everyone who sent in feedback and continue to make the app better than ever!

How have people been using Yeti so far?

1. Ask questions – users are asking locally relevant questions and starting discussions around where to go and what to do.

2. Leave a recommendation – users are dropping their favorite spots all around the world, sharing the best places to go and things to see in every nook of the world.

3. Start discussions – users are starting discussions about everything from a great sunset to random talking points.

Thousands of users are taking Yeti with them when they travel. You can discover what’s happening around you, ask questions, and find the best hidden spots you never knew existed. Yeti now has active members in more than 100 countries!

So what’s next for Yeti?

We just submitted a build to Apple that introduces a brand new discussion design, making the app more engaging and fun. With bigger photos and an easier UI, Yeti is now easier and faster to use! We’re making a ton of UI updates and bug fixes based on feedback from members like you!

But wait, there’s more!

We’ve been adding ambassadors from Venezuela to Amsterdam, São Paulo to Curaçao, and all throughout the US. You can see our ambassadors and apply to become one at the Yeti Ambassador Page! This is an exciting program bringing on global experts helping to grow the community all around the world.

We have an Android version soon as well, which is looking slicker than ever.

And finally, we made some pretty awesome stickers. If you’d like one, send an email to stickers@yeti.ai and we’ll hook you up!

Again, we wanted to thank you for being an early member of the Yeti community. If you have ideas and suggestions, feel free to email them to us at hey@yeti.ai. If you want to help, consider leaving a 5 star review for us in the App Store and following us on Twitter at @theyetiapp. And keep telling your friends about Yeti, the more we grow the better the community becomes for everyone!
